[ARCHIVED] Welcome Back Letter from Principal Bolger

September 2, 2020

Hello Gardner High School Families!

As I write this letter, I am reflecting on how different the opening of school will be this year compared to years past.  None of us could have imagined there would be a world-wide pandemic and our students would be engaged in remote learning.  I also know that the GHS community is resilient and will come together to make this the best possible educational experience for our students.

Although it might look a little different, as we begin the new year our focus will continue to be on rigor, relevance and relationships.  We always strive to provide our students with an academically challenging environment where they feel safe and supported.  Of course the administration, faculty and staff are fully committed to making sure every student has a positive experience at Gardner High School whether remotely or in person.

The 2020-2021 school year will begin remotely for GHS students on September 15th.  I understand that you may have questions about the logistics of how remote learning will work.  I have attached our remote learning schedule along with a detailed description on how to follow the schedule and student expectations.  More information around Link Crew Orientation; the athletic season; completing beginning of the year paperwork; and the distribution of chromebooks, textbooks and supplies will be forthcoming very soon.  Each of your teachers will also be emailing you before the start of school to introduce themselves and to give you the information you will need to get started in your classes.

Please review the GHS Remote Learning Information and GHS Schedule.  The GHS faculty, support staff and administrative team cannot wait to get students back into the classroom, albeit virtually to start.  I’m proud of the work we have all done preparing for the return of our students.  It’s going to be a great year.  We got this!

Sincerely,

Paula Bolger, GHS Principal
