Gardner Public Schools continues to be a vibrant and diverse learning community, dedicated to providing high-quality instruction for our English Learners. Our district currently provides multilingual learner services to over 250 students, representing 19 different languages spoken. In total, approximately 400 of our students speak a language other than English at home—about 16% of our student population.
This rich diversity is one of our greatest strengths. Each language and culture represented in our schools adds to the collective knowledge, perspective, and experiences that make our classrooms stronger and more connected to the world.
The Multilingual Learner Department is committed to ensuring that every student has the tools, opportunities, and support they need to thrive academically and socially while developing English proficiency through a Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) model. We value and honor the home languages and cultural backgrounds that our students and families bring with them, recognizing that these are vital parts of their identities and assets to our community.
