In connection with Gardner’s Centennial Celebrations in 2023, the Gardner Museum will showcase memorable aspects of the city’s first 100 years The exhibit will run until August 27th during regular museum opening hours. 

 An Expanded Environmental Notification Form (EENF) and Proposed Environmental Impact Report (EIR) has been submitted to the Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act (MEPA) office for the Former Visitors Center - Land Ownership Transfer. The proposed project includes the City obtaining ownership of two properties currently protected under Article 97, including 26 Lake Street and the southern adjoining parcel on Central Street (identified as Tax Assessor’s Parcels M27-25-10 and M27-25-6, respectively) from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts (the “Commonwealth”). In exchange, the proposed project includes the Commonwealth obtaining ownership of the “Stump Pond” parcel on Pearl Street in Gardner, MA (identified as Tax Assessor’s Parcels W27-112).

 An online/remote consultation session will be held on June 20, 2023 at 5:30 PM to receive advice and comments from agencies, officials, and citizens regarding which environmental issues, if any, are significant for this project. Opinions as to the extent and significance of possible environmental impact will be welcome.
