Artist, co-owner of Frames/Ink in Petersham, and railroad buff Ken Levine will talk about the Swift River Valley, the 4 towns lost during the creation of the Quabbin Reservoir (North Dana, Enfield, Greenwich and Prescott), the development of railroads in New England, and the Rabbit Run Railroad. This “stoppingest railroad” (with 19 stations along the circa 50 miles) was the lifeblood of the Swift River Valley. Ken will also cover the artistry and construction of his diorama of the Swift River Valley during pre-Quabbin Reservoir times he created in New Salem at the Swift River Valley Historical Society.
