September 5, 2019, 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM @ The Gardner Museum
While early revolutionary sentiments were bubbling to the surface in New England, the Polish Lithuanian Commonwealth was closing out its fourth century in existence. By the time the U.S. won it's independence, the Slavic kingdom would be well on its way to disappearing from the map entirely and by the time George Washington left office, it would be only a memory. This program will cover the long quest for Polish independence that followed, and a Gardner connection. Presenter Jonathan Zlotnik studied history at the University of Massachusetts and is the author of Actor's at the End of Bad Play which was selected for inclusion in the UMASS Lowell University Library.
