Scam Alert - Electricity Rates Phone Call & Sales People

scam-alert

We've received some information that residents are receiving phone calls and unsolicited sales calls from a company advising people that electric rates are increasing and immediate action is required.  This is in no way affiliated with the City of Gardner.  The phone call or the salesman states that electric rates are increasing and you need to act now to lower your rate.

Over 90% of the City's residents are enrolled in the Gardner Municipal Aggregation program which has a fixed electrical supply rate for the next two years.  No further action is needed one you are enrolled in the program.  If you ever have a question about information you receive in the mail, in person, or via phone please contact us with any questions and we'll be more than happy to help you out.  Also, if you are receiving an excessive amount of automated phone calls, make sure to check to see if your phone number has been registered on the National Do Not Call Registry.  You can register your home or mobile number for free.

If you are not enrolled in the Municipal Aggregation Plan or would like some more information, please visit our website.
